Alicia Schmidt Camacho, Yale Professor of Professor of Ethnicity, Race, and Migration. will talk about Migrant Justice in Cruel Times. This talk is based on her work with migrant-led organizations in Central and North America. She will discuss how migrants are responding to mass expulsion and punitive enforcement with principles of solidarity and labor justice. We’ll examine how the criminalization of ordinary migrants has operated within a regional program of authoritarian governance and economic stratification. Understanding migration as a creative force is central to our collective futures.
